Release 1.7 of chi.mp is now live! This release brings added profile customization, puts your activity stream front and center, and more.

More profile customization! You’ve been asking for more themes for your profiles, so we’ve developed a larger variety of designs to make your public profile more…you! Selecting a theme is easy: go to the theme selector in Profile/Themes and click on one of the color boxes. The new theme will appear so you can see it before you save it. To make it permenant just click on Save Theme.

MSN and GTalk. We’ve added the option to include MSN and GTalk services on your profile. To add these messaging services edit your profile and click Add Another Messaging Service in the Messaging section.

Set your favorite icon for bookmarking. Customize your site even further by setting your favorite icon. This little icon will appear in your browser’s address bar and on bookmarks to your site. Just go to Profile/Theme right now and select a GIF or PNG file from your computer to use as your site icon.

Personal messages for your beta invites. You will now be able to include a custom message for your beta code invitees. If you still have beta codes to give out then go try it now. Don’t worry if you don’t have any codes at the moment, we’ll be giving out more beta codes in the near future.

Activity stream. You asked for your activity streams to be more prominent, so we’ve moved it front and center! We’ve also cleaned up the other elements on your profile to make more of your content and information visible without needing to scroll.

In addition to the new features, we’ve also cleaned up the messaging and notices on your site, so this should make your experience even easier. Finally, with your help, we’ve also had the chance to fix some of the little bugs in the system so your experience should be cleaner and smoother.
