I’m Laurel.mp! Now what do I do? (Updated)
Now that you have your free .mp domain what can you do? Remember, all of the information you enter into your site is yours and completely private unless you choose otherwise. You can enter as much or little of this information that you wish, but the more you enter, the more options you will have to customize your site later.
(If you want an example of what a .mp looks like, feel free to go to laurel.mp)
Log In:
To log in to your site, just enter your .mp URL into your browser, then click on the Login button!

Profile: Fill in as much profile information as you can. This includes Contact Info, Education, Employment, On the Web and About Me. Other than your display name and status updates, no one can see this information until you assign it to a persona.

Design: This is where you can determine the look and feel of your site. Customize your background by uploading your own image, or choose from one of our designs. Upload your profile photo by selecting the Avatars tab. Create a favicon for your site by choosing Favicon.

Content: Add your Services to your site from across the Web such as Flickr, Twitter, Feeds and contacts from Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo. You can also write your own .mp Blog and create Albums! Just click on Content->Services to get started. If you want feeds and services to show up in your activity stream, you simply need to apply them to your public Persona.

Contacts: You can add contacts from your services such as Flickr or Twitter, or mail services such as Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail, and/or import contacts from your laptop and manage, merge, tag, invite…whatever you like. Remember, they are your contacts, not ours. We will never contact your friends.

Settings: Under the settings tab, you can change your email address and password, set the title, meta description, Google Analytics, Google Webmaster code, enable MicroID, alias other domains to your .mp site and forward email. For more information on the tools, please check the chi.mpin’ lounge for details. One of our favorite features is Google Analytics. Once you set up your Google Analytics, you can track to see how many people have been visiting your site. For more information on how to set this up just click here.

OpenID: OpenID makes logging into websites as simple as entering your chi.mp address. It means you don’t need to remember passwords for each of those sites. Just look for the OpenID logo when you are asked to enter a password on other websites. Take a look in your OpenID tab to learn more about OpenID.

YOUR DASHBOARD
As soon as you have added information and services to your site, your dashboard is where things get more exciting!
Dashboard - Overview: Here you can see the most current activty on your .mp site. You can also update your status which you can push to Twitter and Facebook if you so choose.

Dashboard - Activity Stream: This view shows you all of your Activity Stream items. You can filter the stream by choosing the icons.

Dashboard - Personas & Privacy: The Personas and Privacy dashboard is where you can choose who sees what around your site. You can choose the themes, content and contacts for each of your Personas. For example, my Public Persona includes information that I don’t mind sharing with anyone who comes across my .mp. I have also created a Surfing Buddies Persona which has my surfing buddies in it. They get the privilege ;) of reading my latest surfing exploits in my surf blog. I don’t want to make any rules on how you create Personas or what you use them for, but I will give some more use cases in the chi.mpin’ lounge soon. Share your Persona ideas, we’d love to hear them!

Dashboard - Site Export: We’ve added the option to export your site contents and contacts.
- vCard file with all your contacts.
- Portable Contact records in JSON format.
- Portable Contact format for all your profiles.
- All your blog posts in HTML.
- All your uploaded photos.
- Listing of which contact belongs to which profile.
Purchase Domain: We provide each owner with one free domain. You may, of course, purchase your current domain from your .mp site or go to http://get.mp to purchase additional domains.
As always, please let us know what we can do for you. Please reports bugs to our account at Get Satisfaction or send us an email to support@chi.mp if you need some help.
Aloha,
The chi.mp Team

Laurel, this was a very nice entry. Easy to read and understand! Great reference point for people new to chi.mp with easy to view screenshots.
Thanks! I wish I saw this yesterday when I joined! Also the blog seems to be a day ahead if chi.mp is located in Hawaii. It says 27th is when posted, when it is the 26th.
