Back to the Blank Page

Can something be great and a bummer at the same time?  I think so.

Rob Farrow is leaving chi.mp to do what he does best: BUILD BRANDS. He is reminiscent of a mad scientist in the way he applies his creative genius to inception branding, brand strategy and start-up marketing.  Like the serial entrepreneur who is only comfortable in the stress of a start-up, Rob is best when he is the lightning bolt striking the primordial ooze from which life springs forth.  In other words, Rob blows doors when it comes to the blank page.

When Rob first started with us there was no chi.mp – Content Hub & Identity Management Platform, no Own / Evolve, no logo, no bold orange and brown – we had nothing to speak of in the way of a brand – only a blank page.   What we did have was an idea, a set of core values and a commitment to building a product that was grounded in the principles of the Open Social Web.  Rob assimilated these into his process and through his vision, creativity and design, the chi.mp brand was born.  Rob was the driving force behind this.

Rob’s theory of engagement through social interaction helped to introduce chi.mp to audiences everywhere.  Instead of simply attending or participating in events, Rob created chi.mp events that brought chi.mp into the hearts of the leaders in the space and prospective chi.mp site owners at incredible rate.  He was meticulous at planning and producing events that always delivered the desired result – smiling, laughing and engaged guests.

So it’s great that chi.mp has replaced the blank page and it’s a bummer that Rob will no longer be bouncing off the walls of our offices. There are very few people who can do what he does and even fewer who can do it with the consistency that he exhibits.  It was a pleasure to have worked together and I look forward to celebrating success together in the future.

Mahalo Rob for all you’ve created and done for chi.mp and the chi.mp site owners we serve.

I never got to talk to Rob, but all I can do is say thanks for helping get Chi.mp up off of its feet. :D

    I don’t work for chi.mp and I don’t know Rob.
But, I do have an account with chi.mp and just think it’s one of the greatest places out here on the internet. I discovered chi.mp through an email subscription to KenRadio, where Ken gave a brief description of the site and provided the link. These links that Ken shares in his emails are the main reason why I subscribe to his updates.

All of you should be proud of the genius you have created out here—and I’m sure it must be a royal bummer to see Rob move on. I can relate to that feeling of bittersweet departures when one of the contributors of the team’s success, announces that it’s time.
    It blows……
