Introducing Nick Burrus aka Rawr.mp!

Nick has been a chi.mp owner since February of ‘09.  When he joined our beta testing program, he immediately began breaking almost every single button on the site.  Eventually, we gave him our first champion badge on GetSatisfaction where he does great work responding to chi.mp owner queries.  We still have work to do, and Nick still breaks our buttons every chance he gets.

Q: Tell us about Rawr.mp
A:  Rawr.mp is basically my chi.mp, for the lack of a better word. xD. I use it to track feeds of things that interest me and my tastes, such as strange news, or updates on things I care about. I am a heavy user of the blog and album software as well. I have hundreds of photos, literally in my albums with thousands of views. I keep these up for family and friends, and others who are curious.

Q:  What are some of your interests?
A:  Well, I am a gamer at heart. I am in love with role playing games. I am an avid World of Warcraft player, and I have divulged myself in other MMORPGS. I love reading, and am a fast reader. The genres I tackle are usually fantasy, or historical. Television is another thing I have an interest in, I am a diehard fan of the SciFi channel (Er…I mean SyFy, but I still cannot get used to the new spelling). Stargate, Eureka, Caprica, Sanctuary, and so many other television shows really perk my interests.

I love travel. I want to see many parts of the world. Social media is another thing that interests me, I want to see how it can evolve, and how simple things, and simple trends can effect social media all together. I have a really big interest in wikis, especially over at AboutUs.

On top of this all, I still have a secret addiction to pokemon subconsciously. Don’t blame me, I grew up with it. xD.

Q:  If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
A:  To be truthful, unlike many males where I grew up, I never got comic books while growing up. xD. So my knowledge of superheroes is a bit vague. But, what would I like my superpowers to be? Hmm…I would have to say my mind, I would want something that would allow my mind to strengthen. Perhaps premonition or telekinesis.

Q:  What does the word success mean to you?
A:  The word success means happy with what is done to me. Being successful is being at a place where you wanted to be. I believe it comes in many forms and is achieved often. Knowing the feeling of success is an amazing feeling, and it leaves you with the feeling you can do something, even more amazing, no matter how simple it is.

Q:  Is there anything else you would like to share?
A:  I try to live a life of fun. Life is short, too short. I stop and try to see my world for the beauty it really is. I cannot imagine living in any other time, any other place. With all of the complications I had while growing up, I’m just glad I’m still around and am still meeting amazing people.

Q:  What’s your favorite song?
A:  Another tough question. I jump around a lot. Right now, I think I am admiring Declan Galbraith’s An Angel over everything else, so I’ll choose that.

Q:  What are your top two improvements for chi.mp?
A:  I know this is getting old…but I really would love to see the blog get improved. I am not very happy with the formatting of the blog right now. It is usable, but it isn’t something I’d jump up and down for right now. I am getting extremely happy with the album feature improvements, however, I’d love to see some organization features to be added to reorder albums or photos.

Personally, with chi.mp in beta and making improvements all the time, I am becoming extremely happy with the product. I loved it since I first joined, but the few things I disliked I voiced my opinion, they got fixed quickly. There has been massive improvements and chi.mp works for me, and offers more then I can hope for now.
